The purpose of the project is to segregate or classify materials such as: aluminum (which will be compressed), wood, glass bottles, paper cups and plastic bottles (which will be compressed). The means of transportation was a 5ft by 5inches conveyor belt, built by us. The expulsion and compression system used were pneumatic pistons controlled by 2 electronic manifolds, that were coordinated by a PLC. Inputs such as sensors and push-buttons were used also coordinated by PLC programming.
