    In this video we’ll look at iron (in the form of steel), Fe2O3, and Fe2O4 to determine whether rust is magnetic.

    In order to tell whether rust (made up of mostly Fe2O3) is magnetic we’ll use a rare earth magnet.

    Note that each of the substances do exhibit some degree of magnetism as shown in the video. However the rust (Fe2O3) is the least magnetic of the three substances.
